All about our Environmental Services practice
Emerging markets face complex environmental challenges. Urban populations cope with pollutants and inadequate water supplies. Agriculture, forest, and biodiversity assets are overexploited. Production systems must internalize energy and waste costs, or climate change will further impact competitiveness. Chemonics’ environmental services practice creates cross-cutting solutions to help enterprises reduce environmental and social impacts.

PLACE will serve as USAID’s primary mechanism for the promotion of transformational development and integrated landscape management through sustained, increased biodiversity conservation and natural resource management. Through PLACE, Chemonics and its consortium members provide targeted support to USAID missions, offices, and partners in five primary natural resource management categories, including biodiversity conservation (terrestrial, freshwater, and marine), sustainable forestry, sustainable tourism, ecologically sustainable agriculture, and the provision of ecosystem services.
